One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Just Puma sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead.

The leader couldn't hold the lead and Le Piratage sprinted to the front. Merci Cherie galloped way to long and was disqualified.

Le Piratage was in great shape so far and looked happy in the lead. Hit The Target galoped after 1000m and lost 20 m.

Standings after 1500m . Lane one Le Piratage followed by Huge Issue and Giant Prince. Lane two Drunken Cockney followed by Just Puma and Hit The Target. Substance Élégante started to gallop after 1500m and Ulf Eriksson had to struggle to get it back in trotting.

Le Piratage kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Final standings. 1 Huge Issue, 2 Le Piratage, 3 Drunken Cockney.
