The weather had been good all week and Kalajoki was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Pure Power found a gap and took the lead. Moving Band followed before Vortex Horse.




There were no mayor changes in the field at the 500m mark. Vortex Horse started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.




Pure Power clinged on to the lead after a 1000m.

Moving Band sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
