One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





First Shift was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. Mack Crown was to tense at the start and galloped for 40 m.




The leader couldn't hold the lead and Alien sprinted to the front. Gloire À Dieu started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.




Santana took the lead after 1000m. First Shift didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.




First Shift looked to be in good shape this day and took the lead after 1500m.



Dance Hall Days was disturbed and galopped for 20 m. First Shift kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.






First Shift kept the speed the whole finish and won before Khashoggi´s Ship and Mack Crown.
