Only a few clouds could be spotted on the sky this day. Kalmar track was in top-condition.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Many drivers had set there mind on a front position this day. Fastest of them all were Brown And Brawny. Rugged Bomb ended up behind the leader. Gentle Giant got caught on the outside and were forced to take place as first in lane two. When the startcar left the field Gentle Giant started to galop and lost 30 m. Ulf Ohlsson wanted a little to much in the start and Brilliant Buddy galoped for 30 m.

This is the positions after 500m. Camber Sands, Dingle, Lieutenant Factory, Brown And Brawny, Jaywalker, Walking Scope, Objection Overruled, Rugged Bomb. A bird flew just in front of Le Cardinal who started to galop and lost 50 m.

Lieutenant Factory took the lead after 1000m. Walking Scope didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.

Lieutenant Factory didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
