The weather had been good all week and Åby was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Just Ship found a gap and took the lead. Sentinel followed before Empire Red Planet.




Empire Red Planet saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. Captain Palema started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.




Life Is Beautiful took the lead after 1000m. Born Bowler didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.




Born Bowler accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. True Racer started to gallop after 1500m and Olle Goop had to struggle to get it back in trotting. Just Ship started to gallop after 1500m and Björn Goop had to struggle to get it back in trotting.



With only a little left of the race Delightful Rocket galoped for 50 m. Life Is Beautiful was first on the homestretch followed by Born Bowler and Empire Red Planet.

Merlin's Maid galoped way to long and was disqualified. Captain Palema galopped for 30 m on the homestretch. Stefan Söderkvist tried a little too much on the homestretch and Growing Action started to galopp and lost 40 m.




Life Is Beautiful didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
