It had been raining for several days at Lahti but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Scepter could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start. Nine was to tense at the start and galloped for 40 m.

Spécial Jeune Fille saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead.

Scepter sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead.

Scepter was still in the lead after 1500m.

Ready For Takeoff litterally flew through the last bend and was first on the homestretch.

Ready For Takeoff kept the speed the whole finish and won before Scepter and Nine.
