It had been raining for several days at Oulu but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Fast Thinking sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead.




Pomeroy saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead.




Hockaday Lore looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Lone Moussolou couldn't come out from behind the leader, Pomeroy.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one Pomeroy followed by Lone Moussolou and Fast Thinking. Lane two Carlos Sir Väs followed by Hockaday Lore and Peace On Fire.



Lone Moussolou speeded up in the last bend and was first on the homestretch.






Hockaday Lore won the race after a spectacular finish.
