It had been raining for several days at Kaukonen but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Hard Devil was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead.

Growing Blast saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. Thomas was disturbed and galoped 20 m.

Hard Valley took the lead after 1000m. Screaming Map didn't have a good time being caught on the outside. Power Star galoped after 1000m and lost 30 m.

With only a little left of the race Screaming Map galoped for 10 m. Hard Valley took the lead after 1000m. Screaming Map didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.

driver couldn't keep Hard Valley to trotting so they were disqualified.

Growing Blast won. Hard Devil came in second. Thinking Hero caught third place.
