One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Silverplate tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to
Talkie Talkie that came steaming ahead. When the startcar left the field Silverplate started to galop and lost 20 m.
There were no mayor changes in the field at the 500m mark.
Orodreth looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that
Silverplate couldn't come out from behind the leader,
Talkie Talkie.
Talkie Talkie was still in the lead after 1500m.
Talkie Talkie were still in the lead when they started the sprint for the finish-line.
Talkie Talkie didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
