It had been raining for several days at Riihimäki but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Johnny Zurich Cherry found a gap and took the lead. Carrollton followed before Grey Jacket. La Forcula suddenly started to galop. Petri Mäkinen had to struggle to get La Forcula to tror again and succeded after 50 m. Quite Quiet was to tense at the start and galloped for 50 m.




This is the positions after 500m. Carrollton, Huizinga, Starshine Gold, La Forcula, Quite Quiet, Johnny Zurich Cherry, Grey Jacket, Opinion Publique.




Starshine Gold sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead.




Starshine Gold was still in the lead after 1500m.



Starshine Gold looked like a million bucks when we commenced the homestretch.

Starshine Gold galoped way to long and was disqualified.




Johnny Zurich Cherry sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
