Skinny Screwy quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. A bird flew just in front of Erica who started to galop and lost 10 m.

Riff Opal took the lead after 1000m. Zeleon Cherry didn't have a good time being caught on the outside. Kiwi Lore showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping.
