The weather had been good all week and Solvalla was in good shape. One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Hidegkuti was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. The leader couldn't hold the lead and Thinking Crusher sprinted to the front. Power Universe started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified. No one seem keen on putting pressure on the leader so he could keep his own tempo. Hidegkuti accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. Magpie U.S suddenly found some strength when the driver removed the earpads and sprinted to the lead. Selftimer made a good sprint on the homestretch and crossed the finishline before Magpie U.S. Results
