It had been raining for several days at Joensuu but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Ojsan Hjältinna could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




The leader couldn't hold the lead and Wimpy Summer sprinted to the front.




Ticking Sun sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead.




Ticking Sun was still in the lead after 1500m. Credere In Fato started to gallop after 1500m and Riina Rekilä had to struggle to get it back in trotting.



Ticking Sun sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.






Ojsan Hjältinna won the race after a spectacular finish.
