One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Going Strong tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Speedy Paradigm that came steaming ahead.




Speedy Paradigm was in fine shape and held the lead.




Zoetemelk sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead.




Going Strong accelerated after 1500m and took the lead.



Zoetemelk was first on the homestretch followed by Going Strong and Speedy Paradigm.






No-one could catch Zoetemelk today who won before Going Strong and Wolly Brightness.
