The sky was free of clouds and the sun was shining at Joensuu this day. One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Osaka Hof found a gap and took the lead. Very Magpie followed before Outspoken Space. Very Magpie quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. A bird flew just in front of Narkissos Hall who started to galop and lost 30 m. The leader got disturbed by something and Osaka Hof took the lead rather easily. Outspoken Space accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. Fourcade suddenly took over the lead. With only a little left of the race Outspoken Space galoped for 40 m. Osaka Hof litterally flew through the last bend and was first on the homestretch. Narkissos Hall won. Fourcade came in second. Osaka Hof caught third place. Results
