One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Sim Can E C tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Kræfter Honorere that came steaming ahead. When the startcar left the field Tricky Lilac started to galop and lost 10 m. When the startcar left the field Kræfter Honorere started to galop and lost 30 m. Mercedes Balogh wanted a little to much in the start and Van Basten Dynamite galoped for 40 m. Sim Can E C saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. No one seem keen on putting pressure on the leader so he could keep his own tempo.
