The sun was shining and the birds was singing on Joensuu today.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Carlos Bakfull could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




This is the positions after 500m. Apache Gold, Modestine, Yanis, Jolly Venus, The Chocolate Factory, Carlos Bakfull, Alpine, . Alpine started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified. Modestine was disturbed and galoped 10 m.




Modestine sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead.




Jolly Venus looked to be in good shape this day and took the lead after 1500m. Apache Gold started to gallop after 1500m and Tapio Perttunen had to struggle to get it back in trotting.




Modestine suddenly took over the lead.



Jolly Venus litterally flew through the last bend and was first on the homestretch.

The spectators cheered much on the homestretch and probably caused Apache Gold galop. Apache Gold lost 40 m.




Final standings. 1 Modestine, 2 Jolly Venus, 3 Carlos Bakfull.
