It had been raining for several days at Kemijärvi but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape. One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Nessuno Promettere found a gap and took the lead. Carbonio Vox followed before Shooting Runner. La Reine Charmante quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. No one seem keen on putting pressure on the leader so he could keep his own tempo.
