The weather had been good all week and Åby was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Adventurous Puma could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




Sunday Nutcracker saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. A bird flew just in front of Reijo who started to galop and lost 40 m.




Sunday Nutcracker was in great shape so far and looked happy in the lead. Wolly Beauty suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 10 m. Experienced Comet suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 30 m.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one Sunday Nutcracker followed by Wolly Beauty and Reijo. Lane two Adventurous Puma followed by Travelling Rose and Zucchini. Something caused a disturbance in the field and Reijo gallopped for 10 m.



Sunday Nutcracker kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Reijo showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping.




Final standings. 1 Wolly Beauty, 2 Adventurous Puma, 3 Sunday Nutcracker.
