One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Gotta Go Home found a gap and took the lead. Steel Box followed before German Bullet.

There were no mayor changes in the field at the 500m mark.

German Bullet looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Screaming Motor couldn't come out from behind the leader, Gotta Go Home.

Gotta Go Home was still in the lead after 1500m. Something caused a disturbance in the field and Steel Box gallopped for 20 m.

Gotta Go Home didn't even look tired after 2000m and sat safely in the lead.

Gotta Go Home kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

No-one could catch Gotta Go Home today who won before German Bullet and Screaming Motor.
