It had been raining for several days at Kalajoki but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Gorgeous Brightness tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Gold V that came steaming ahead.

Fortuna On Fire saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead.

Parachute looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Gorgeous Brightness couldn't come out from behind the leader, Fortuna On Fire. Gold V galoped after 1000m and lost 10 m.

Standings after 1500m . Lane one Fortuna On Fire followed by Summerlight Blues and Radiating Sugar. Lane two Gorgeous Brightness followed by Gold V and Kvarngärdets Falcon.

Summerlight Blues suddenly found some strength when the driver removed the earpads and sprinted to the lead.

Fortuna On Fire made a good sprint on the homestretch and crossed the finishline before Gorgeous Brightness.
