The sky was free of clouds and the sun was shining at The Red Mile this day.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Full Of Gold sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead. Volant Prince was to tense at the start and galloped for 20 m.

This is the positions after 500m. For The People, Art Director, Ready For Takeoff, Lawmaker, Full Of Gold, Tegen Stand, Virgo, Amore Adorabile. A bird flew just in front of Leinster who started to galop and lost 30 m.

Art Director sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead.

Tegen Stand accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. Virgo galloped for 30 m. For The People started to gallop after 1500m and Stephane Bouchard had to struggle to get it back in trotting.

Virgo put some pressure on the leader and could take over.

Virgo was safely in the lead after 2500m. Unknown gallopped 40 m after 2500m. driver couldn't keep Leinster to trotting so they were disqualified.

Virgo kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

The spectators cheered much on the homestretch and probably caused Amore Adorabile galop. Amore Adorabile lost 10 m.

Virgo kept the speed the whole finish and won before Full Of Gold and Lawmaker.
