It had been raining for several days at Sodankylä but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

A Rotation tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Gold Knockout that came steaming ahead. Sliding Frenzy was to tense at the start and galloped for 30 m. When the startcar left the field Gold Knockout started to galop and lost 20 m. driver couldn't keep Hest Seierstad to trotting so they were disqualified. Tapio Perttunen wanted a little to much in the start and A Rotation galoped for 50 m.

Pirates Hacker saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. A Rotation started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

Growing Work took the lead after 1000m. A Rotation didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.

Gold Star Sunset sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
