It had been raining for several days at Lahti but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Kosjutin was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. When the startcar left the field Kosjutin started to galop and lost 30 m.

This is the positions after 500m. Opposing Flower, Ultra Pearl, Anina V. Belle, Mysterious Way, Étudier Mon Équitable, Moonlight Stardust, Sonja Palema, Kosjutin. Bermuda started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

Anina V. Belle took the lead after 1000m. Mysterious Way didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.

Anina V. Belle was still in the lead after 1500m.

With only a little left of the race Sonja Palema galoped for 30 m. Anina V. Belle sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.

Mysterious Way sprinted over the finishline before Moonlight Stardust and Kosjutin.
