One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Overcalmed was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead.

There were no mayor changes in the field at the 500m mark.

Contact looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Infinity Joy couldn't come out from behind the leader, Old Pain.

Standings after 1500m . Lane one Contact followed by Old Pain and Happy Blueboy. Lane two Infinity Joy followed by Let´s Fly Again and Black Celebration. driver couldn't keep Overcalmed to trotting so they were disqualified.

Contact sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.

Contact kept the speed the whole finish and won before Infinity Joy and Old Pain.
