One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Defender was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead.

This is the positions after 500m. Renate Larockma, Matter Of Fact, Sleepy Twister, Sunshine Tonight, Steel Sound, Schön Geschichte, Defender, Milestone. A bird flew just in front of Beauty Without Cause who started to galop and lost 50 m.

Matter Of Fact took the lead after 1000m. Sunshine Tonight didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.

With only a little left of the race Matter Of Fact galoped for 40 m. Sleepy Twister took the lead after 1000m. Milestone didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.

Sleepy Twister didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
