One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





King Giant was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. When the startcar left the field Brave Power started to galop and lost 40 m.




The leader couldn't hold the lead and Jolly Sun sprinted to the front.




Perfect Thought sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead. Diamond Stone suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 20 m.




Nothing seemed to be able to stop Perfect Thought today. It continued in the lead. Dreaming Blast showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping.




Vittorio Quick took the lead.



Vittorio Quick kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.
