Only a few clouds could be spotted on the sky this day. Åby track was in top-condition.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Giant could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




This is the positions after 500m. Higgins, As My Honey, Growing Angel, Slow Puma, Lovetrain, Giant, Rhapsody In Blue, Knockout Wood.




Lovetrain sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead. Knockout Wood was disturbed and galoped 20 m. Growing Angel suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 10 m.




As My Honey accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. Growing Angel galloped for 10 m.




As My Honey was still in the lead after 2000m.



Higgins was disturbed and galopped for 10 m. As My Honey sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.






Giant sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
