The weather had been good all week and Åby was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Beautiful Pie could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




Prince Star saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead.




Powerful Valley looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Beautiful Pie couldn't come out from behind the leader, Prince Star.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one Prince Star followed by Top Speed Jalpa and Global Navigator. Lane two Beautiful Pie followed by Powerful Valley and Feliz.



Prince Star were still in the lead when they started the sprint for the finish-line.






Prince Star kept the speed the whole finish and won before Beautiful Pie and Top Speed Jalpa.
