It had been raining for several days at Åby but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Claudette tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Gentle Giant that came steaming ahead. Red Horizon was to tense at the start and galloped for 50 m. When the startcar left the field Captain Canada started to galop and lost 30 m.

The leader couldn't hold the lead and Red Horizon sprinted to the front.

Libra took the lead after 1000m. Empress Of Poker didn't have a good time being caught on the outside. Gentle Giant suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 10 m. Captain Canada was disturbed and galoped 50 m.

Empress Of Poker took the lead after 1000m. Caffe didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.

The spectators cheered much on the homestretch and probably caused Claudette galop. Claudette lost 40 m. Per Berg Thomsen tried a little too much on the homestretch and Captain Canada started to galopp and lost 30 m.

Gentle Giant won. Empress Of Poker came in second. Caffe caught third place.
