One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Climbing Play found a gap and took the lead. Happy Rocker followed before Gorgeous Diary. Angelica Angel galloped way to long and was disqualified. When the startcar left the field Gorgeous Diary started to galop and lost 20 m. Opposing Spring galloped for 60m and was disqualified. Fighting Night was to tense at the start and galloped for 40 m.

Fighting Night was in fine shape and held the lead. A bird flew just in front of Happy Rocker who started to galop and lost 50 m. Dead Tiger showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping. District Attorney started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

No one seem keen on putting pressure on the leader so he could keep his own tempo.

Nothing seemed to be able to stop Fighting Night today. It continued in the lead. District Attorney started to gallop after 1500m and Robert Bergh had to struggle to get it back in trotting. Unknown started to gallop after 1500m and Unknown had to struggle to get it back in trotting.

Gorgeous Diary kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Record Sampler didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
