The weather had been good all week and Åmål was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Many drivers had set there mind on a front position this day. Fastest of them all were Dreaming Of Karelia. General Beard ended up behind the leader. Sergeant Missile got caught on the outside and were forced to take place as first in lane two.

Prince Flame saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. Abandonnez-vous Immédiatement started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

The leader got disturbed by something and Light Bomb took the lead rather easily.

Maximus saw a chanche when the tempo dropped and could easilytake the lead. Abandonnez-vous Immédiatement galloped for 60m and was disqualified. In A Million started to gallop after 1500m and Erik Adielsson had to struggle to get it back in trotting.

Maximus kept the speed up and no one had a chance to take over the lead.

Maximus sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.

Samuraj Steel won the race after a spectacular finish.
