One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Great Big Boy found a gap and took the lead. Marco Polo followed before Flower
Girl. Markku Nieminen wanted a little to much in the start and Marco Polo galoped for 20 m.

Girl was in fine shape and held the lead.
Great Big Boy looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Gold Runner couldn't come out from behind the leader, Flower

Band suddenly made a bad step, started to galop and lost 10 m.

Spring showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping.
Great Big Boy didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
