One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Many drivers had set there mind on a front position this day. Fastest of them all were
Melbourne For Ever.

Paradigm ended up behind the leader.
Good As It Is got caught on the outside and were forced to take place as first in lane two. Unknown was to tense at the start and galloped for 40 m. When the startcar left the field Unknown started to galop and lost 30 m. wanted a little to much in the start and Unknown galoped for 20 m. Unknown suddenly started to galop. had to struggle to get Unknown to tror again and succeded after 40 m. When the startcar left the field Mr Icecold started to galop and lost 30 m.
The field stabalized after the bend and the speed was reduced. A bird flew just in front of Unknown who started to galop and lost 40 m.
Good As It Is was disturbed and galoped 20 m.
Good As It Is looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that

Paradigm couldn't come out from behind the leader,
Melbourne For Ever.
Mr Icecold galloped way to long and was disqualified.
Mr Icecold was disturbed and galopped for 40 m.
