The weather had been good all week and Lappeenranta was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Many drivers had set there mind on a front position this day. Fastest of them all were Cloudy Windy. Heavy Cruiser ended up behind the leader. T-bone Walker got caught on the outside and were forced to take place as first in lane two. Unknown was to tense at the start and galloped for 30 m. Unknown showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galloping. Heavy Cruiser was to tense at the start and galloped for 50 m. Esa Holopainen wanted a little to much in the start and Mirinda galoped for 20 m.

This is the positions after 500m. T-bone Walker, Fagerviks White Service, Gentleman Steel, Midsummer Lady, Lyxwaux, Cloudy Windy, Heavy Cruiser, Heavy Comet. Cloudy Windy looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Heavy Cruiser couldn't come out from behind the leader, T-bone Walker. Lyxwaux galoped after 1000m and lost 0 m.

Midsummer Lady accelerated after 1500m and took the lead.

Gentleman Steel put some pressure on the leader and could take over.

With only a little left of the race Hard Wave galoped for 20 m. Gentleman Steel looked like a million bucks when we commenced the homestretch.

Hard Wave galopped for 20 m on the homestretch.

Midsummer Lady won the race after a spectacular finish.
