One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Top Issue found a gap and took the lead. Waving Starlight followed before Derby Star.

Duncan Brady saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead.

Duncan Brady clinged on to the lead after a 1000m.

Crunchy Crisp clinged on to the lead after a 1000m.

Duncan Brady won. Waving Starlight came in second. Derby Star caught third place.
