It had been raining for several days at Åby but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.
One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Many drivers had set there mind on a front position this day. Fastest of them all were
Reverse.
Thunder General ended up behind the leader. Unknown got caught on the outside and were forced to take place as first in lane two. Veijo Heiskanen wanted a little to much in the start and Kansas Treasure galoped for 40 m.
The leader couldn't hold the lead and
Polished Pearl sprinted to the front.
Going For President was disturbed and galoped 40 m.
The leader got disturbed by something and
Reverse took the lead rather easily.
Capital Guy galoped after 1000m and lost 40 m.
Unknown looked to be in good shape this day and took the lead after 1500m.
Thunder General started to gallop after 1500m and Lennart Forsgren had to struggle to get it back in trotting.
Unknown didn't even look tired after 2000m and sat safely in the lead.
With only a little left of the race
Kansas Treasure galoped for 40 m. Unknown kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.
Capital Guy galoped for 60m and was disqualified.
Unknown kept the speed the whole finish and won before
Reverse and
Thunder General.
