One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Many drivers had set there mind on a front position this day. Fastest of them all were
Derby Star.
Love Of Speed ended up behind the leader.
Gentleman
Stone got caught on the outside and were forced to take place as first in lane two. wanted a little to much in the start and Unknown galoped for 30 m.

Stone saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. Unknown was disturbed and galoped 30 m.
Derby Star looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that
Chicago Gangster couldn't come out from behind the leader,

Stone. Unknown galoped after 1000m and lost 50 m.
Derby Star saw a chanche when the tempo dropped and could easilytake the lead. Something caused a disturbance in the field and
Luxdunum gallopped for 40 m.
Derby Star were still in the lead when they started the sprint for the finish-line.
Kari Rosimo tried a little too much on the homestretch and

Stone galopped for 20 m on the homestretch.
Timestopper sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
