The weather had been good all week and Kalmar was in good shape. One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Knight Of Sunrise could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start. Comfortable Bomb suddenly started to galop. Jorma Kontio had to struggle to get Comfortable Bomb to tror again and succeded after 30 m. When the startcar left the field Mobster Mash started to galop and lost 10 m. This is the positions after 500m. Beautiful Rocket, Knight Of Sunrise, Vilas Boko, Comfortable Bomb, Admiral Wolf, Stupefait, Killing Tengil, Nighthawk. Knight Of Sunrise looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Comfortable Bomb couldn't come out from behind the leader, Beautiful Rocket. driver couldn't keep Vilas Boko to trotting so they were disqualified. Knight Of Sunrise accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. Beautiful Rocket seemed to be in top-form this day and took over the lead. Beautiful Rocket were still in the lead when they started the sprint for the finish-line. Beautiful Rocket didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race. Results
