One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Demanding The Best took the lead after a very quick start. When the startcar left the field Royal Pride started to galop and lost 40 m.

The leader couldn't hold the lead and Final Countdown sprinted to the front.

Final Countdown clinged on to the lead after a 1000m. Firebird galoped after 1000m and lost 50 m.

Nothing seemed to be able to stop Final Countdown today. It continued in the lead. Force Of Universe started to gallop after 1500m and Jim Frick had to struggle to get it back in trotting.

Final Countdown was still in the lead after 2000m.

Demanding The Best speeded up in the last bend and was first on the homestretch.

Final Countdown sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
