One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Sieg Viktoria took the lead after a very quick start. driver couldn't keep Maintenant Ou Jamais to trotting so they were disqualified.

This is the positions after 500m. Loving Maid, Sieg Viktoria, Smiling Peach, Amazing Sun, Fugitive, Jumping Sunray, Walking Nova, Dove Princess. Whatever Forest galloped for 60m and was disqualified.

Smiling Peach sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead.

Fugitive saw a chanche when the tempo dropped and could easilytake the lead. Sieg Viktoria started to gallop after 1500m and Åke Svanstedt had to struggle to get it back in trotting.

Fugitive kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Jumping Sunray sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
