One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Royal Pride could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




This is the positions after 500m. This Is Why, Thunder Force, Royal Pride, Beboppaloola, Final Countdown, Fights To Top, Scarlet Eyes, US Marshall.




Thunder Force took the lead after 1000m. Beboppaloola didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.




Thunder Force was still in the lead after 1500m.




Thunder Force kept the speed up and no one had a chance to take over the lead. Scarlet Eyes was disturbed and gallopped for 50 m.



Thunder Force looked like a million bucks when we commenced the homestretch.






This Is Why never caught up with Thunder Force who won. Beboppaloola came third.
