The weather had been good all week and Vermo was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Funky Gal found a gap and took the lead. Fairbankgi followed before Pointing Whirlwind.




Funky Gal was looking sharp this day and continued in the lead.




Loving Energy looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Pointing Whirlwind couldn't come out from behind the leader, Funky Gal.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one Funky Gal followed by Pointing Whirlwind and Loving Energy. Lane two Fairbankgi followed by Swinging Bouquet and .



Pointing Whirlwind was disturbed and galopped for 30 m. Funky Gal looked like a million bucks when we commenced the homestretch.






Funky Gal kept the speed the whole finish and won before Fairbankgi and Swinging Bouquet.
