It had been raining for several days at Sodankylä but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.
One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Joyau Madame could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start. When the startcar left the field Unknown started to galop and lost 10 m. wanted a little to much in the start and Unknown galoped for 50 m.

Energy saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead. Unknown galloped way to long and was disqualified. Unknown started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

Energy clinged on to the lead after a 1000m.
Joyau Madame accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. Unknown started to gallop after 1500m and Unknown had to struggle to get it back in trotting. Unknown started to gallop after 1500m and Unknown had to struggle to get it back in trotting.
Labour Leader put some pressure on the leader and could take over.
Joyau Madame was first on the homestretch followed by
Labour Leader and
Calming
Missile.
The spectators cheered much on the homestretch and probably caused
Club Ticket galop.

Joyau Madame kept the speed the whole finish and won before
