The sky was free of clouds and the sun was shining at Åby this day.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Hoping Star sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead.




There were no mayor changes in the field at the 500m mark.




Liliwen looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Shy Judge couldn't come out from behind the leader, Hoping Star.




Hoping Star was still in the lead after 1500m.



Shy Judge speeded up in the last bend and was first on the homestretch.






Shy Judge didn't even look tired on the homestretch and won the race.
