The weather had been good all week and Gävle was in good shape. One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Sleeping Beauty tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Físicamente Apto that came steaming ahead. Físicamente Apto was in fine shape and held the lead. The leader got disturbed by something and Lying News took the lead rather easily. Nothing seemed to be able to stop Lying News today. It continued in the lead. Jocelina started to gallop after 1500m and Per Lennartsson had to struggle to get it back in trotting. Lying News didn't even look tired after 2000m and sat safely in the lead. Físicamente Apto showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping. Lying News sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch. Jocelina won the race after a spectacular finish.
