One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Cotton Eye Joe could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




There were no mayor changes in the field at the 500m mark.




Cotton Eye Joe was in great shape so far and looked happy in the lead.




Nothing seemed to be able to stop Cotton Eye Joe today. It continued in the lead.



Cotton Eye Joe looked like a million bucks when we commenced the homestretch.






Precious Beauty made a good sprint on the homestretch and crossed the finishline before Cotton Eye Joe.
