The weather had been good all week and Bergsåker was in good shape. One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track. Flying Champion sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead. Flying Champion was in fine shape and held the lead. Floating Wardrobe started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified. A bird flew just in front of Mazy who started to galop and lost 30 m.
