One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Growing Steel was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead.

This is the positions after 500m. Handy Missile, Listening Dribbler, Walking Asteroid, Growing Steel, Muscle Cash, Rocking Tiger, Golden Rebel, Lying Baby. A bird flew just in front of Lying Baby who started to galop and lost 10 m.

Listening Dribbler sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead.

Standings after 1500m . Lane one Listening Dribbler followed by Growing Steel and Golden Rebel. Lane two Walking Asteroid followed by Handy Missile and Lying Baby.

Listening Dribbler kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Growing Steel made a good sprint on the homestretch and crossed the finishline before Listening Dribbler.
