One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Rational Fist could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.

Zardini quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. Zardini started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

The leader got disturbed by something and Pécheux took the lead rather easily.

Nothing seemed to be able to stop Pécheux today. It continued in the lead.

Pécheux didn't even look tired after 2000m and sat safely in the lead.

Pécheux kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Carbon won. Zardini came in second. Rational Fist caught third place.
